How to eat your cake?

March 1, 2016

We have learned the proper way in our earliest years and just keep repeating it. But cutting the cake into triangular slices may be a huge mistake.

A weekly science magazine Nature has recently unearthed instructions on how to slice a cake. Back in 1906 an English polymath Sir Francis Galton, best known for introducing questionnaires and surveys in human behavioural studies, conducted a serious scientific experiment. He proved slicing the cake in a conventional way was wrong and proposed cutting a cake down the middle and removing one long rectangular piece at a time. The two halves, and then four quarters, shall be pushed back together again in order to keep them fresh in the fridge, if they last that long.

This cake mystery is solved, now the scientists just need to find the solution to the stubborn problem tormenting us How to eat your cake and have it too.
