The number of people who work from home on a regular basis nearly doubled in the last decade. It has never been easier to replace daily commute with the comfort of your home and millions are taking on the challenge.

Mobile technology makes it effortless to work and communicate from any room of a house. And yet, while some people need structure and could not imagine working outside the designated space they go to every morning, others can do the job without it and see all the space as one open office area. Working from home parents in particular believe kitchen or living room is the easiest place to do the job and keep eyes on the children. According to the research, their main problem may be, how to keep children engaged and cut stimulation from friends and relatives.

If you are still undecided whether you need a separate room for your professional activities, realtors may provide an answer. In the last years, real estate agents and interior designers claim, houses with separate room designated for working at home are easier to sell and achieve better prices.
