The early bird catches the worm and looses weight

April 4, 2014

Many research found sleep deprivation brings weight gain. Now new study suggests the early rays of light lead to the opposite.

Scientist persuaded volunteers to wear wrist monitors measuring their light exposure and record everything they ate and drank. Regardless of how many calories they consumed those who got a light exposure at the beginning of the day, were most likely to have a low body mass index. It seems morning light influences the appetite hormones so efficiently, it changes our metabolism.

Waking up sooner in the morning may bring weight loss even when we consume the same amount of calories as before, the study show. It looks like the early bird catches the worm and looses weight at the same time.
