Chocolate treatment

March 25, 2014

In Mayan times ten beans would buy you a rabbit. Spanish conquistadors went for gold, but returned from Mexico with cocoa beans. Soon apothecaries had a hold over them and now, 500 years later, their ancestors – chemists finally unveiled the secret of cocoa’s healing power.

Once you take a bittersweet bite of dark chocolate, recent studies discovered, good bacteria in your body transforms it into a powerful anti-inflammatory cocktail. It is packed with super antioxidants, causing blood vessels to dilate, thus lowering blood pressure and bringing other beneficial effects. Something milk or white chocolate simply cannot do.

The research, which was co-funded by Mars Inc., the manufacturer of M&M’s, was aimed also at determining, how much cocoa is needed to improve health. It turned out about two tablespoons a day, should keep a doctor at bay. Does this mean the seductive spokescandie Miss Green will soon come with alluring health benefit label?

    • Exercise is a dirty word. Every time I hear it I wash my mouth out with chocolate.

From now one, it is strictly dark one. 😉
