The Kesh Angels

February 28, 2014

original1

Working for a fashion photoshoot in Morocco, London based Hassan Hajjaj got frustrated to see his native country used only as a backdrop for Western models. He took a camera to create a unique insight into daily life of Moroccan women on their motorbikes.

Kesh Angels are images of his Marrakesh friends, photographed in theatrical poses on two wheels and framed with daily objects. Unique fusion of Muslim clothes demonstrates their respect of tradition, however the presence of western brands make them defiantly modern. Girls on bikes with their strength, style and street-smart attitude can be currently seen at the Taymour Grahne gallery in New York.
