The dating day of the year

January 2, 2014

Holidays are for some the loneliest time of the year. Between Thanksgiving, Hanukkah and the New Year, many singles are put under pressure to be in a romantic relationship. Constant stream of happy holiday photographs over social media or the questioning from our nearest and dearest around the dinner table do not help either.

That is why the world’s biggest dating sites all report a spike in the traffic activity around New Year. As mobile dating makes it much easier for users to interact, location-based dating apps typically have a 30% increase of signups during the two weeks after Christmas. Although far from an exact science, agencies claim January 5 to be the dating day of the year. So, if you are thinking in taking your chance online, better move quickly, the statistics is currently on your side.
