Wining and dining

January 11, 2013

Weight gain increases the risk of mortality. Not necessarily. Recent study suggests that overweight adults have a lower mortality risk than the ones with normal weight. Hm?!

The meta-analysis based on large epidemiological studies data found a 6% decrease in mortality risk among overweight people. This means that women with 163 cm and 57 kg (5’4” and 126 pounds) have a higher mortality risk than those with 79 kg (174 pounds). I would never recommend unhealthy lifestyle, but it is still good to hear such news after all our holiday wining and dining.
