Bad publicity

September 6, 2012

Talking about bad publicity, sharks are the perfect example. After all films about these ferocious animals attacking innocent swimmers, sharks became the natural born killers in public eyes. What about the facts?

Hippos for instance, kill 2,900 people a year. Deer are responsible for hundreds of fatal car collisions. Even cows and horses, useful domesticated animals, take 45 lives a year in the US alone. What about the sharks? In average 6 people annually lose their lives from shark attacks. Who said there is no such thing as bad publicity?
