Optimism from Orient

February 20, 2012

According to the catwalks, yellow will be all around this spring. This colour however, is probably the most contradictory of the palette.

In western world it is associated with sickness and danger. Ships raise yellow flags as a sign of contagious disease on deck and heavy machinery is painted with it. On the contrary, Chinese consider yellow as the most beautiful of all colours, signifying neutrality and good luck. Yellow is also the main colour of Buddhism, representing the freedom from worldly cares. Therefore, while wearing yellow this spring, may the colour instead of fear bring you optimism and good luck from the Orient.
