There is always room for improvement

January 27, 2011

A century ago there were only a handful of women attending universities across Europe. At Oxford for instance women were not admitted to membership of the University until 1920, although they had been allowed to sit some University examinations and attend lectures, however they were not allowed to graduate.

The first woman at Oxford University was appointed to a full professorship only in 1948. Today women surpassed men at many levels of education and now outnumber men in university degree in most European countries….still we are paid 18% less.
